My Insanity
Remember Edgar Allan Poe?
The quote where he said,
"I was never really insane
Except upon occasions when
My heart was touched."
Every beat of mine was just the same.
Every touch from you screamed insanity.
You were etched into my life,
Like the ink on this very paper.
I'm afraid I can't take much more of this.
I want to hold you
In the palm of my hands,
But it's too late.
I let you slip away.
Have you heard of Osamu Dazai?
He once spoke,
"I shall be nothing,
The wind,
The sky."
I feel this emptiness consuming me.
A bit of every little thing.
I want to be alone,
But can't I just be lonely with you?
A single glance in your direction
And I am everywhere.
A single breath;
I swear I've lost it.
Insanity becoming all that's left of me.
Can you see what all you've done to me?
The man they call Buddha has mentioned,
At one point in time,
That "With our thoughts we make the world."
But trust me,
I would never let mine spill into this place.
If word got out,
It'll be the end of me.
For I think about you
In the most sinful of ways.
I am a madman with you beside me.
Have you noticed it too?
We became surrounded in this insanity,
Like we had no other way
To describe this to humanity.
Remember Edgar Allan Poe?
He told the world through a poem,
"All that we see or seem is
But a dream within a dream."
I've realized this now,
You were never really as insane as me....
