Nothing

Nothing is the feeling that discibes my past,  nothing I can remember that would at least make me laugh.  Nothing that could describe just how I felt, when I watched the hand my brother, sister, and I had been dealt.   Nothing could have prepared us for the nightmare that came next,  nothing we faced was appropriate for kids.  Nothing stood between what was right and wrong,  and nothing came to save us even after so long.  Nothing prepared a child so young and so new to what people in this world could really do. Nothing stood between our nightmare and life,  nothing seemed normal,  but the  torture and strife.   Nothing seems capable of so many things,  like the taking of one's innocence, lost hopes and their dreams.  Nothing left memories that can't be erased,  nothing but nightmares have taken its place.   Nothing but time has passed us now,  nothing but heartache has followed us around.  Nothing will change if given the time,  nothing is wrong except what's left inside.
