Wrong Turn!

Daniel E. Mayon 1948 (Galena Park, Texas)

acquaint conversations mostly
innocent; nothing to fear.
pursuing obsequious flattery,
extolling each other,
they called me dannel eugenn,
sometimes dannel boon
said my dipples were cute
said i always smile
cheered me at bats
cheered me when I made a good play
many people really liked me
used to take my picture
cheers from the football stand
the announcer said i did it
used to cheer when i hit homeruns
blew my chances
friends always came by
tried to get me to smoke dope,
ninety-nine percent of the time; said nope
life severely changed;
changed life, severely
The attack of the wee ones
cotten tops always happy
babies so beautiful
lots of baby names
huggie buggie bears
steal 'em while you can
they're gone now (sob)
good time breeze
nutty decisions
boom, alone
takes the money
a miracle, have babies
turmoil,
craziness
sleepless nights
"you're too good,"
echoes for years;
no i wasn't!
yes you are, right!
cold hearted attacks,
battling ruthless gangs
fearful, laughing
crazy druggie scum
temporary backup
threatened by traitor
locked and loaded
sleepless nights
a drink or two?
nasty taste
alone
another creep!
added mistake
shame on me thrice
love, a tweetie-pie,
taken
thief's never change
exhaustion at work
cold, freezing nights
don't forget the harley conn
oops! in the next thirty
right turns only!
