The fire inside still burns.
Again and again, I go through this.
It seems like I never learn.
Will I get my turn,
or should I take the hits?
The fire inside still burns.
Why do I try to return?
Am I something to dismiss?
It seems like I never learn.
It's like there's no concern.
But even if I'm in the abyss,
the fire inside still burns.
My chance is always adjourned.
When I try, I always miss.
It seems like I never learn.
"Maybe next time," I try to confirm.
But no matter how much I resist,
The fire inside still burns.
It seems like I never learn.
About this poem
This is a poem that I made on my own. Based on the title, the spiral of rejection inspired me to make it. I've had my fair share of rejections, and was forced to make poetry in English, so I channeled my emotions to make this Villanelle.
