"The Desire So Deep Inside of You"

Thomas M. Scott 1948 (United States)

"The Desire So Deep Inside of You"
(For Marian and WA, III, in the season to come)

"From whence doth come the desire so deep
inside of you? The desire to love even more
the one you have loved so much in this life.
Does it come from the same place out of
which the seasons flow? Could such a desire
find its birth in the mysterious rhythms
which create the snow?  Are such desires
hidden in the rising sun or a falling star or
a new born's unconscious innocence? From whence doth come the desire so deep inside of you?"

About this poem

This poem was crafted just after my paternal aunt's 85th birthday and in honor of that same paternal aunt and uncle and the very deep love they have had, over time, for one another . . .
