Memory of A Lover

It’s me for you and you for me.
Friends throughout eternity.

In dreams
we walk in woods
along familiar trials.

We watch
boats in placid
waters with crisp,
white sails.

We hold hands, cajole,
laugh, and talk.

Many happy hours
beside the sea we walk.

If you had not nudged me
toward its pursuit,
Happiness might have
eluded me.

Romance became
something for us all
Not just for some.

When did our innocent
fathoming become
phantasmagoric fireworks,
far from humdrum?

Your genial style
none can dispute,
Gravity which
rendered me mute.

Gratitude stirs my soul
when a memory
Of you slips
slowly into mind.

Another friend like
you I will not find.

I cried when you
left me behind.

Togethern we realized
dreams within our scope,
Threw each other a
life raft and rope.

We Strategized new ways to cope.
We gathered stardust,
nurtured hope.
