America Canada Australia

America Canada Australia
Author: Mark V. Markov

America, Canada, Australia,
Land of immigrants,
From all over.
People from many ethnic backgrounds
Living together.

Mixing and intermixing.
What differentiates
An American. Canadian, Australian,
From all the other countries.

Everyone that lives there,
Came from somewhere.
Throughout the history of time.
It was discovered by everyone,
Over a period of time.

These lands consist of people
That are mixed
And also from one ethnic background only.
A people
That came from all over.

Unlike other countries
That carry a long history
Of a certain people
From a specific ethnic background
Always living there.

These countries consist of people
From many ethnic backgrounds
They were discovered by people
From all over the world
And carry a history
Of diverse multi ethnicity.

You don't have to be born here
To be an American, Canadian, Australian,
As long as you are a citizen of the country.
You can be called
An American, Canadian, Australian.

If a Spaniard goes to Sweden
Becomes a citizen of Sweden
He or she is still a Spaniard
Living in Sweden.

Yet if a Spaniard goes to America, Canada, Australia
And becomes a citizen.
He or she can be called an American, Canadian, Australian
Because the countries consist of people from all over the world.
Some are very mixed,
And some are from one ethnic background.

Throughout the history of those three countries
Everyone came from all over
Everyone came from all over the world,
To live in America, Canada, Australia...

The name Australia (pronounced /əˈstreɪliə/ in Australian English[6]) is derived from the Latin australis, meaning "southern", and specifically from the hypothetical Terra Australis postulated in pre-modern geography. The name was popularised by the explorer Matthew Flinders from 1804, and it has been in official use since 1817, replacing "New Holland," an English translation of the Dutch name, first given by Abel Tasman in 1643 as the name for the continent.
