Desolation of the Heart

As I sit and gaze upon the sky
I still do not know why
you care to cross my mind
With magic winds you do wind

You drown my sorrow
And then are gone tomorrow
You can never depart unless you know you have broken my heart

I can't understand your reasons
For they change as often as the seasons
Leaving behind an emptiness that would fill the oceans
And cannot be healed by any of your worthless potions

I am nothing, now and forever
And forgive you I will never
My heart is now a frigid, barren land
Where only I alone will ever stand

As I sit and gaze upon the sky
The only thing I want to know is why

Oh how I wish that I could fly
So I would never have to hear you say goodbye
