In Waves

It comes in waves,
Thinking of you.
A song plays,
And I'm sixteen again.

We hadn't spoken in a while,
But I still cared for you.
I will always remember your smile,
And the presence that you had.

It comes in waves,
Thinking of you.
The memories, they echo like a whisper in caves,
And I'm lost.

You left this Earth long ago,
I never got to say goodbye.
But I'll take it with me though,
Your shining light will never fade.

It comes in waves,
Thinking of you.
You're a hero in this story that saves,
A quick decision, a sacrifice made, and you are gone, but never forgotten.
