Wrinkled Woman in the Street
Wrinkled Woman in the Street
I am an wrinkled woman in the street
All I do is walking, roaming around the street
Watching the people around me
Asking for food when I am hungry
But, before I happen to be in the street
I was a wife
I was a mother
I was a member of a family
Yes, I was unfortunate
To be living in this state
But, I am still wondering
No matter how hard I think, I still don't get it
I was in vain
When my husband left me pain
I was so lonely
When my children had their own family
What can this old woman do for a living?
What can this mother do for her children?
When her hair turned grey
And her eyes couldn't see clearly
Maybe my children abandoned me
For I have no money
I am no longer as strong as I was back then
Maybe they think I am a living burden
It's painful to think
I raised them
I took care of them
I have loved them
Yet, I was still left behind by my very own children
If they would see me in the street
Would they hug me?
Would they give me food when I'm hungry?
Or would they just ignore me?
If I would die
Would they feel sad
Would they hold a funeral for me?
Or would they just be happy?
Thinking about it already
Hurts me deeply
Yet, in the end, no one would help me
For I am just a wrinkled woman in the street who sadly lost a family
