Off The Rails
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Off the rails.
And pledging to prevail,
Their allegiance to violence.
With the promise of a power.
That destroys and ends,
Entitlements taken for granted.
Not to earn but given.
And yet they have expectations,
To control and rule over a democracy.
Taught and made to believe,
Too much emphasis on diversity...
Has begun to ruin the image,
That symbolizes...
A white is right authority.
Fading away from a fictional base.
Built on a foundation sold to sell.
But has begun to reveal,
Cracks exposed of those...
With celebrated pretentious faces.
Imitating idols faked to not exist.
Off the rails.
Yet determined to reach,
A concrete destination to envision it.
With their barbaric allegiance to violence.
And...
Stubbornly believing,
Themselves to be the chosen ones.
Self inflicted, drugged and addicted.
To a fixation historically fictioned.
And they just may be,
Chosen!
Chosen to be observed as the element,
Destroying humanity.
A disease-causing enemy of the people!
'How and why,
Can you assess our progress made...
In such a negative and cynical way!
And you claim to be patriotic?'
'I don't claim it.
I am extremely patriotic.
And that I need not prove to you.
However,
I will say this...
No matter how much power you grab,
To believe yourself finally worshipped.
Guess what?'
'What?
Go ahead and humor me.'
'Everything you believe is yours to own.
To claim alone is yours to take?
That hand you bite to spite your nose,
Done to perceive...
Will not have you the one that bleeds.
Remember,
You alone did not create to make.
Who do you think,
Sacrificed to allow you to enjoy...
Not only the cake.
But also the ingredients,
To permit you to exclusively feast.
While you turned your back and laughed!'
'You people.
Always come up,
With these weird expressions.
Know this,
When we obtain power...
Independent we will be.
Having no need for your diversity.'
'Good luck!'
'You mean...
Good fortune!'
'No.
I mean...
Good luck.
Your fortune to have had it,
You alone...
Will one day regret,
Taking for granted the taste.
And greatness of it to miss.'
'And you?
What will you miss?'
'Hmmm...
Good question.
I probably will not miss but reminisce,
The wasting of my time...
Wishing to once want to be,
As equally blind as you are.
However...
God has blessed me,
To overcome and quickly heal...
For all my bad decisions to have made.
With a learning not to be persuaded,
By stupid decisions others make!'
'The only thing stupid I have done,
Is to listen to your nonsense.'
'Checkmate!
Although I will admit,
Being back on track...
Has kept me from chasing,
A fast moving train too late to catch!'
'What?
You people,
Are not only amusing.
But very entertaining.
Chasing a fast moving train,
Too late to catch.
That's hysterical!
'Enjoy.
First as long as time permits!'
