The little tourist

You're an Island
I am a stranger to your shore
cold inexhaustible waves call upon you
still you shelter me
your beauty remains forever more

You're the sun
I am the morning song bird
your warmth rises to greet me
my love for you is forever more

You're what beats the heart of Manhattan
boundless curiosity
I am it's noble friend Staten quietly envious
of every street.

Although these two shall never meet.
memories are cherished just as sweet.
My love for you remains forever more
