Faithful Exhortation
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
You must remember predictions,
From the apostles of the Lord;
Christ persevered the afflictions,
We must not let them be ignored.
In the end there will be scoffers,
Following ungodly passions;
For they will be truly mockers,
And wearing seductive fashions.
It is these who cause divisions,
Worldly devoid of the Spirit;
Persecution that imprisons,
Those performing godly merit.
Build yourself up in your spirit,
Most holy faith while praying;
Being humbly considerate,
As you continue obeying.
Keep yourself in the love of God,
Waiting for mercy of the Lord;
Continue to honor and laud,
Showing Him that He is adored.
And have mercy on those who doubt,
Compassion does make a difference;
Showing what Christ is all about,
Benefits of obedience.
Save others out of the fire,
Showing others mercy with fear;
Abolish earthly desire,
And the reason why to revere.
Hate garments having fleshy stains,
For Christ lets you not to stumble;
Breaking the bonds of sinful chains,
When you are remaining humble.
The presence of glory and joy,
Presenting you being blameless;
Allows righteousness to deploy,
That never in feeling shameless.
The only God our Savior,
To be glory and majesty;
Looking upon you with favor,
When under His authority.
