Runaway

When I was a child
I decided to be tough
The taller I grew
Tough got me through
the heart of a fighter
tried and true
Out into the world
went I ,
just little ole me myself
and I.
I was grown
wandering around all alone.
Important back then,
being smart,
earning my keep
finding something to eat
and being kind.
That’s when I learned
time passes faster
with a happier heart
and somewhere to sleep
If only we knew
while we’re young
“the time of our lives”
before its not
