apologies

you say he didn’t mean a thing

he was only someone to past the time,

you say that you shouldn’t have tried to see what’s out there when you have all you want with me

you say “I shouldn’t have to defend myself right now when I know how I feel about you”

I wonder if you only say that because no one else wants you past a hookup

and I try to let you go, ignore those apologies, how can I when you’re half of me?

loving you comes at a cost, and my friends  encourage me to tell you to get lost

but who am I, if I’m not yours?
