The Broken Sticks

My body is full of sticks
most of whom are broken and healing
i try as best i might to heal quicker and faster
but i am to small and am slowly runnning out of water and sun

My body is full of sticks
most of whom have cracked and splintered
the splinters cake my body like hair and slowly puncture my heart and lungs
i struggle to breathe under all this broken mess

My Body is full of sticks
it aches and groans as the trunk is beaten and torn
the flesh of bark is burnt and ripped away
the splinters become large sticks and the sticks turn to the sticky sap of blood

My Body is a fallen tree
sitting quiet and empty
 the animals have all left
the blood dry and hard
my body is a fallen tree and it cant get up.
