I HAVE FALLEN FOR YOU

I HAVE FALLEN FOR YOU

They said my heart is like a stone,
A rock, shaped from the swords of
Heartbreaks. Like a steel shield,
Carved by the best armour-maker
But look at me now, I have fallen for you.

I swore never to love again, or adore
Another lass who trudge this path,
Never surrender this cleaved heart
To another stranger
Save it from the burns, the bleed, the hits
The torment of another affection-blow.
Still I have, I have fallen for you.

I have fallen for you,
Fallen like a dried foliage at harmattan,
Like beet to the mighty punch of cyclone
Like the grey snow
Around the Great Lake of Tasmania.
I have fallen, I have fallen for you.

Like rain falls to the ground,
Like leaves falls to the floor
Like rattling tears falls on flowery cheek
Like dew drops on a lily flower at dawn
I have fallen, I have fallen for you.

I have fallen, deep into the cage
Of your love. Into it's bottomless sea
Returning is not likely. I swim deep
Deeper into this pleasant pool
Willingly, smiling at every step taken;
Darling I have fallen, I've fallen for you.

So treat me like the lovely lilies
Treasure each moment we share
Swear you won't leave me ever forlorn
For I have fallen, I have fallen flat for you.
