Snows and Sins

Matthew Wild 1984 (California)

Oh, summer's droughts and dryness have vanished,
As with the temperance of halycon days;
The child exiles of Afghanistan banished,
The preacher that lies, the soldier that prays;
And love remembered is grief forgotten,
And the One and only Son begotten,
And from His lips, the words, it's finished,
Kiss by kiss young Judas' betrays

Now the bloody leaves of autumn do fall,
And all the seasons of snows and sins;
My dear boy, The Reaper for all doth call,
The light that loses, the night that wins;
And one eternal flame is dancing,
And two firefly hearts' romancing,
And in days dividing lover and lover
Note by note the ballad begins
