The Park
O're the ground fresh snow lays thick
No footprints can we see
So new the snow no one has trod
Not even you or me
Come let's dent this mantle white
Leave footprints in the park
Where winters' beauty we can view
Against a sky so dark
Look, can you see the holly tree
They say she wears the crown
With berries bright and beautiful
To dress her prickly gown
And high up in the tall best trees
There's the mistletoe with berries too
Come lets stand beneath and I'll
Share a kiss wish you
Don't stop now let's trudge on
For I see a chestnut tree
Let's pick some of her prickly seeds
And roast them for our tea
About this poem
Childhood memories of the wonders of winter.
