"Did I Say I Would"

Did I say I would
As I watched the falling sparrow
Was it I who promised
To stop the piercing arrow
Oh but he lies so cold and still

It's late to begin, so late
Many cannot see the danger there

Did I say I would
Perhaps it was a dream
Someone gave me the silver thread
To sow shut the human seam
To Earth fell my soaring will

But if I hurry; make haste
I will avoid the judge's killing stare

Did I say I would
My words I cannot recall
How could I let it be
If I was to become the all
Claiming forever the scared hill

I laugh, my fellows with me
We all fell the trapper's snare

Did I say I would
My friends with finger condemn
As my eyes blur
The light, once bright grows dim
The wind, once warm blows Winter's chill

And I alone I'm left to find
What little peace in a traitor's mind.
