A friendship poem

What does a friend mean to me?  When I'm with them I am as happy as can be.  When I make one I'm glad because I chose not to in the past.  Now I realize they were brought into my life by God and now I know it will last.  My friends accept me for who I am and not who I was earlier in life.  I became friends with her first before I took her as my wife.  I've made friends with homeless people but most took advantage of me when I let them stay out of the cold.  I wish I known beforehand that it was foretold.  I've found out through trial and error that not everyone is a friend.  When I make one they are my friend until the end.
