Letter From A Shepherd

Letter From A Shepherd

For years I was in between two strange flocks,
One that knew me and one that thought they did.
Fearful of paths wonderful yet filled with rocks,
I simply followed where the crowds were bid.

Then I spied amid countless swaying trees
A fair maiden who sparked something in me.
Doe eyes twinkled, lavender on the breeze,
Mirrored is the longing I dreamed to see.

We’ve walked those thorny paths, ripe with trouble.
Watched sunrises warm to their dying rays.
Picked up all the pieces from the rubble.
A house of laughter to endure all days.

Two years have passed since meeting on that field.
In your loving embrace, my fate is sealed.
