Mental Health

WHITE POETRY

Mental Health

Health, they say is wealth.
And that definitely includes mental.
A lot of people have dealt with theirs,
But some don't know it is principal.

While growing up, I saw different angles.
Some people are broken-down,
Others made humble.
Some cope with it, but it breaks a lot of couple.
Others think they can live with it, until they start to see double.
Some get out of it, others are stuck in a hurdle.
People have to fight the battle, so they can break out of the bundle.
Victims think so much, until they just start to mumble.
And if they fail to snap out, upon madness they stumble.

Heard the story of a man, who just got out of prison.
And the reason for his locking, was actually for no reason.
For it was a crime not committed by him, but his cousin.
One who was wealthy, only from being a kingpin.
Who engaged in crimes, as his source of living.
This man's name was Samson.

Samson was from a family of four,
And tho they were once poor,
His way was one of pure.
Before he did anything, he needed be sure,
That such won't put him on the floor.

So, what he did was focus,
Helping people open doors.
One he made a nurse,
Another he made a boss,
And to a lot, he was a source.
A blessing he was,
And to none was he a curse.

But then his cousin, Ladi,
Tho having a name godly,
Decided to be shady.
Involving in deals that were bloody.
Whereas he was sent abroad to study,
He preferred to be muddy,
And his attitude was never steady.

Then, Ladi had a deal,
One which involved breaking a seal.
This seal contained some bills
And that was what he wanted to steal.

They had succeeded, and bout to leave,
But with his accomplice, he had a beef.
This made them argue, raising their voice,
Until the owner started to hear their noise.
Immediately, he alerted the cops,
And they appeared, making the guys pause.

Ladi managed to escape,
Not knowing they had been caught on tape.
His friend was led out like an ape,
And was tortured for Ladi's sake.
The following day, Samson was caught,
Cos they looked alike, and Ladi it was they thought.

He has served for years, and ready to go,
Because it's been discovered that it wasn't so,
That he was not the one who stole,
So they decided to compensate his soul.

They looked around, but he was gone,
And it was thought he was on the run.
But he really wasn't having fun,
For with life, he was done,
He had taken his own life, and was no more.
He was found lifeless at the back of the door.

At the end, Ladi was seen,
And he too, was found in a bin,
Where he had terminated his being,
Having a bullet pass through his chin.

I guess this has a moral,
And to you it is left to find.
Whether thinking is normal,
Or just something we should leave behind.
With the belief that at the end,
It is Us that God Will defend,
And not leave us for ourselves to fend.
