Letter to Emily

I like the way you look at me,
and I know what you are feeling.
I want to spend my life with thee
'cos the sight of you gives me healing.

I wonder if you know how my heart beats,
whenever you are close.
How you sweep me off my feet,
like though I've missed my dose.

I had to leave my darling home,
so that with you I can roam.
For nowhere else can I abide,
except with you to ride.

If I don't have you to myself,
I might just take my life,
for without you I lose my breathe,
like I've been stabbed with a knife.

I need right now to see your folks,
so that I can make my wish known;
how I want you to be my own,
and for love break this yoke.
