Elegy for the Queen

What a news it is that the Queen is gone,
leaving the throne to none but her son.
But we can say that her life was legendary,
as it was solely in service with love and harmony.

As a young woman, when she assumed the throne,
she had been vibrant since then till now.
For every English, she took as her own,
until this day that she took a bow.

Our joy is that she fulfilled her purpose,
having been effective and efficient till her last breath.
Making peace and bringing people close,
and finally closing her eyes happily in death.

For her good works, she will be remembered,
for putting in place everything that mattered.
We are happy she has gone to be with the Lord,
And we hope to meet again when we go to see God.
