We Live On

Why am I so sad
When everything is so fine
Greedy contractors still exploit and steal new profits
Girls put on makeup to hook up deep pockets
Stock market dances to nobody's tunes
The landscapers still mowing the grasses
Autumn is here, and the heat wave recedes as expected
Insects begin to sing like an orchestra
Like clockwork time to feel chilly
Time to wear a coat
Everything looks so normal
Why am I still sad
Men and women can't get what they are longing for
Men and women don’t care if anyone gets hurt
Men and women must sneak in to get what they want
Love becomes the source of bitterness
Bitterness gives birth to hatred
Hatred burns your heart to ashes
Men and women die in ashes
The last breath is a painful inhale of the disappearing air
The doctors and nurses looked away
preparing the death bed for the next life
A lonely heart lives in the shadow of the afternoon
Even the warm sunshine can't give comfort
But a cat reminds of something you still can trust
A singing bird enlightening your window
All you want is to fly out but you can't
Pain hides in its closet
Refusing to step out to meet the light
20-year-old pain is same heavy as 80-year-old pain
Except for one burning at the top of the candle
one burning at the bottom
Climbing legs on the ladder are still sore
Parties and alcohols leave a bad taste in the mouth the next morning
Even the excitement of sex does not last
Like a fire put out instantly by ice water
Beauty becomes wrinkles
Freshness becomes dark stains of the years
Hair washed off its luster becoming dull gray
Innocence as water leaks in the soil
Wounds and scars built up where innocence disappeared  like a second birth
Competition and confrontation like a battle between fish and its fisherman
The world only cheers for the winner
No matter how you win
Crying and mourning are so feeble
The dominants are the rich and powerful
Sore legs are still forever climbing the ladder
In the race of climbing the ladder
Shoveling co-climbers is the way to reach the top first
This world is so normal
Life is very normal
Why am I sad
Why other people are down too
Why we still have to collide
We are sad
Because we are not in control of anything
Not even ourselves
