Love is dead
You wanted to be loved,
You wanted me to love you,
But you didn't want to fall in love.
Its such a paradox.
You wanted love,
But didn't love.
You wanted to have the upper hand,
You wanted me to be wrapped around your fingers.
I would be your haven,
Your strength.
Yet you would be none to me.
Because you were desperate to be loved,
And not to love.
Tell me,
Did you really think this could go on forever?
That I would believe in this naive relationship?
The truth is —
I never believed in you or us,
But I was too scared to let go,
Too much in love to move on.
At some point it wasn't love,
The love had turned into a habit and attachment,
The fear of the sudden change in my life,
Hesitation of not seeing a familiar face the next day I wake up.
I stopped loving you long ago,
It was just my insecurity and hesitation.
But now that you realize you love me,
Its too late.
I can't stay here anymore.
I can't live with the idea of acting to love you,
The love which was long dead,
And buried in the graveyard named heart.
You have hurt me too much to ask for forgiveness.
I might have stayed with you,
If you hadn't confessed.
Atleast I could hate you
And resent you.
Now looking at you just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
So goodbye,
My pathetic dead love.
