To my newborn child,

So sorry if your mother and I haven't talked in a while
Not seeing eye to eye was the way we saw it
But trust, if it was up to me, things in this way wouldn't be
Truly, I pray and hope you get to see and know me for your very own
I fear that what I don't condone is the catalyst for us to know the unknown
The invisible divide, dividing I outta life
But I saw it on the horizon
No lying, I tried to deny it
God got it though, that's why I wrote this writing
I love you, for you are me
My hope for the future is that you'll see
