Cord

The area was cordoned off.
People pressed the barrier.
Everyone was told to hold on.
The baby's breath had gone.
Until it was made to glow on.
Its hair a simple strand.
A hug lasted too long.
Its mother held its tiny hand.
The milk was yet to come.
A week of struggle shown.
Then the baby could come home.
The mother's pain went on.
Until angels sung their tones.
and the lord guided her moans.
