Silver Spoon

Free verse
The silver spoon
Sits idle on the shelf
Waiting to be buried in my mouth
A gaping hole to be filled
Spoonfed lies not meant to satiate
Even the bellies of beasts
Could not endure
Close the cupboard
Turn off the light

Inspired by my grandmothers love of spoons.
