The Mares of Night

Dread not the dreams of darkness,
For they lead unto the light,
And they teach you all you need to know,
To tame the mares of night.

To welcome you into your sleep,
Are the dwellers of your id,
They come to life to bring the fears,
That only you can rid.

The demons from your darkest thoughts,
That breathes with evil true,
Once reflected off a mirror,
Comes back as only you.

Though terror prevails you in your dreams,
And in a frenzied sweat you wake,
Your inner self is telling you,
Of changes you need to make.

With time you will understand,
That these monsters cruel and bold,
Is your subconscious showing you,
The ill habits that you hold.

So dread not the dreams of darkness,
Shun not the mares of night,
For then you’ll find that you will ride,
The stallions of the light.
