SHORT RUN BUT GREAT REWARD
It don't matter when you start as long as you run with a pure heart. I might have started late but my mind was focused on the race. I ran knowing God had a plan. He made me a new creature and He made me a new man. I made it to the finish line now i can obtain my prize. I had a goal for the Lord to save my soul. I was constantly striving, though i faced many hard trials - I thrived. I pressed and my faith passed the test. I got closer to God and He got closer to me. I got in the race. I rightly took my place. I ran hard for my Father's son even though it was a short run. I ran well with a story to tell. I finish my course. I made it to the end. God is my source and with Him I WIN! He saved and He set me free. I made it on this journey of faith. I made it through the Pearly Gates. Short run but great reward - in heaven I lifted up my eyes. My flesh died but my spirit is alive.
About this poem
This poem was inspired by a friend who gave their life to God. They died three months later. But in that short time they impacted the lives of many. They had such a zeal and passion for God. Some people run a marathon in God- a long race and others run the 50 yard dash - a short race. Nevertheless, they got in the race and they finish their course.
