Nature's Ballerina
Nature’s Ballerina
A tree is nature’s ballerina, dancing in a placid breeze,
Watching her reflection in the creek below.
She reaches upward with delicate motion
To capture the light of the noonday’s sun.
Her steps are graceful, as
She arabesques against a sky, red velvet in its hue, but cloudless,
Enlightened by the glory of the heavens.
She can perceive no audience and hears no applause,
Although she can hear voices speaking to her
Rustling through the leaves that decorate her branches
Swaying in tune to nature’s music.
Being a tree alone on a deserted island,
She is a dancer stepping in time to the melody of a gentle wind
That whispers amongst the tall reeds surrounding-
Though no one is present to applaud her
She is content just to be that ballerina,
Enjoying the unique silence and embracing the solitude she so adores-
She knows someday a vicious gust of wind could blow her down
Perhaps even at the strength of a blustering hurricane,
And she would fall to the ground and depart this life- forever-
But she lives her life for each magical moment she so wholeheartedly cherishes,
Dancing beneath that miraculous noonday’s sun,
Doing what she loves to do best- just being that prima ballerina
Dancing solo and living the life of her fondest dreams…
