Walking out of Hell Smiling

Let me tell you some about me! I’ve had tragedies throughout my years that should have caused me to break, But I didn’t!
I’ve allowed myself to be pulled into a world of darkness that tried to take my soul, But it didn’t!
I’ve been in the line of a bullet, split by a knife, and I’ve been beaten and left for dead, But I didn’t die!
I’ve went from riches to rags and rags to riches a time or two! I’ve lived on the streets sleepin on cold concrete, under bridges, and places unknown!  That’s when I learned that people, they are not what they portray! Growing cold inside I eventually became the evil I despised!
There was no light, no kindness, or the want to live within me!  I used and abused any substance, and person, really anything I was able to grasp!
I would die on those streets I just knew I would be one more junkie to die on the streets of Knoxville, But I didn’t!
After years of destruction I grew tired realizing how completely broken and destroyed I was! The world said I was unfit to live within society so they locked me away!
I was unable to be healed or pieced back together, they said I would never know happiness, But they were wrong!
Released and needing to prove myself to “Myself” and I did what I needed to do!
Broken they said, screw the opinion of society, they are broken!
Now let me tell you who I am today……
My name is Jonita and I am 37years old! I am a survivor and I’ve been through things a persons mind shouldn’t be able to handle, But mine did! I’m a strong woman and I walked out of the burning pits of hell smiling! Eyes focused on the future and what it was going to be like!
They all said I would stumble, I would fall, and I would still be nothing but broken! I will stumble it’s inevitable! I might even fall it’s possible, but I will not stay down! I’m not broken I’m bruised from all the shit I’ve endured! So when you can live a perfect life you can then give me advice. The unlovable destructive piece of nothing I once was I’m no more! Now I’m loved full of joy and love others as well as life. I also smile genuine warm caring and I enjoy life to the fullest! So again my name is Jonita, I am a former addict and a heartless bitch notice I said FORMER! I’m a new woman today but, don’t get it twisted I still have the old me tucked away just in case.

I deeply appreciate the vulnerability you share!! This was a beautiful crafted piece!! I know it’s not an easy thing to tip yourself open to prying eyes. But you have all of my support! You’re not failing if you’re trying so keep it up!
