My heart

As I sit here in the dark,
Another sleepless night
I try to sleep, but sleep evades me
Cause when I close my eyes, I panic
As those last minutes I spent with you come rushing back
I tried to stop you from going, but it was too late
And though I pleaded and begged you to stay
It was your time to go

I am numb,
I am lost
And every day I cry
Cause you are not here with me
I try to remember the wonderful memories we have made
As those are the memories that will have to fill me
Until we meet again
Love me
