Matters of Mind

Solitude and feeling alone somehow breaks the will to connect,
Losing our minds inside of four walls and knowing life's passing is next.
Unable to talk without substance involved - being afraid that we'll falter in fear,
Lonely is not just a state of mind, but a craving for souls to be near.
Lost in your head, motivation knocked dead and locked in an emotional cell,
Flowers will bloom and snowflakes while our shelter hides our shells.
Introverted and waiting for the gumption to muster facing the cruel world just outside,
For leaving the hell where we blissfully fell is more frightening than living a lie.
