The journey

Rachelle Ryan 1967 (New York)

As I travel down these winding roads I carry with me God's most precious loads. I look into my mirrors and what do I see but the eyes of these little ones all staring back at me. The laughter I hear is like notes playing in a song, a melody with meaning,  while our journey seems long. The happy voices I welcome to my listening ears this is their very first bus ride it is also  the beginning of many years. The children are our future they hold the keys to our hearts show them love and kindness they will know where some journeys need to end and where the new ones need to start.

About this poem

I drove bus from 18 to 41 years old for children with special needs. I soon learned more from each child, every run, each and every year that passed the joy and love that all of our children give...many songs many stories through all kinds of weather. They are all true blessings!
