I Count Up

L.A. White 1965 (Idaho)

I count up, 1,2,3
At 3 you take my breath away.
I count up to 6: 4,5,6.
You remove your top.
You are making me hot.
I count up to 8: 6,7,8.
You remove the bottom half of your clothes.
Now my volcano has come to life.
Will I make it to a home run by the time I count to 12? Let’s see what happens.
Let me go on and see.
Now I count up to 12: 10,11,12.
You move me to your room.
Now my gears are really turning.
Will I make it home by the next count?
Let us see,
I count one more time to 15: 13,14,15.
You move us close to the bed.
Will I get to home base now?
No, her dad comes knocking at the door.
Time out she calls!
My dad is at the door.
She turns towards me and tells me, "Maybe next time you will count faster and will make it to home base."

About this poem

The poem was written in 2009 just another weird thought came to my head when I wrote this one. It is one poem you have to read all the way through to get the whole picture behind the poem itself.
