Rotten smiles

Rasmus Berggren 2002 (Linkoping)

We will make it
But
We all know it won't be easy
We both will watch the rain pour down the window
Watching the smiles of rotten people roam around us
Knowing full well, they should never affect us
But in the end they do
In the end, we are the ones sitting behind the grey glass, looking down at rotten people smiling
Sending down shivers through our spine with jealousy
But we will make it
Because we know
We know in the end we will make it
In 10 years, we will be the one, looking back in euphoria
Because we both know the world isn't the smiles of rotting flesh
But it's tempting
To sip the nectar of momentarily happiness to fit in
To feel the smile on your lips for one moment, instead of watching life passing by through the grey window
But don't
We will make it in the end,
I promise
