River and seas

I was born in a village in South Hunan,

There was a stream in front of my village.

A childhood paradise

Where I played and grew

With my brothers and sisters.

I moved South of Gansu, to the ancient city,

To attend school.

The Xi river flows nearby.

My after-school paradise

Where my play had no end.

Yet now, it is far away.

I look-back

It do not know where it comes from.

But I know

It is just for me.

Later, I studied at Hunan University

On the banks of the Xiang River,

With its famous mountains, pavilions, and rivers.

I’m standing on Orange Isle,

Watching the gushing water surging northward

into the Yangtze River,

And my childhood heaven

with it?

I wander, and now

I live on this side of the sea

Where the waves are monstrous.

Yet there is still a ripple in my heart,

That flows like a stream,

Caressing the shores of my memory,

Leaving traces of love.
