Soured By The Hour

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Continuing to feed an addiction,
To fiction...
A reality deluded that does not exist.
Dependent upon a truth to twist it.
Has yet to reveal,
Long lasting benefits at all.
After the cost and expense to waste,
Witnessing the cause and reason...
Why destruction,
And a devastation takes place.
Right upon the shores,
Where people are realizing to discover...
Below the sweetened taste,
Of treats to seem abundantly to eat.
Getting sour by the hour,
Found is the truth and reality deceived.
And done to do,
To keep the facts of life smothered.
While crooks, thieves and others,
Skilled to fraud.
Charade to parade in masquerade,
Their demonic evil ways to applaud.

'I can't believe we've been deceived,
By liars, crooks and frauding thieves!'

'You know...
I had order my turkey sandwich,
With mayo, tomato, green peppers...
Onions and on whole wheat bread.
Not rye.
And this beverage isn't ice tea, either.
Call that waiter back over here.'

'Have you heard a word I said?'

'About what?
