Ascent

In the mountains ,near to the clouds ,
Where winters air whispers soft ~
Trees hang low with snow that shrouds ..
Creating a lovers loft.

Winters birds sing resounding ,
Tree limbs snap and plow ~
kiss with arms surrounding ..
Nothing matters … only now.

Glittering, frozen footprints made ,
As we venture hand in hand ~
Natures' bedding , where we laid ..
Not trying to understand.

Blue moon high over treetops shine ,
Make clear for us this dream ~
Where I am yours, and you are mine ..
Our place wherefrom we deem.

A given moment, space in time ,
To be all that we dare ~
There is no higher quest or climb ..
Than submitting to what we share.
