His Story

He tells me the story of how life used to be,
And told me about a world I couldn’t see,
He moved away from life for awhile,
And just buried it in a pile,
He’s stuck in a storm that won’t clear,
So he starts to disappear,
All he can see is gray,
And another rainy day,
Life wasn’t suppose to be this way,
He doesn’t believe time heals all,
So he continues to fall,
He’s going to get lost tonight,
Because he’s not strong enough to fight,
He’s empty inside,
That’s where everything hides,
He’s no longer the man everyone once knew,
She’s hoping to get through,
His wall he has built,
Without feeling any guilt.

About this poem

I was inspired to write this poem about my ex. This is how I imagined he saw his life and I feel I was too late to help him, no matter the lengths I went through to try.
