Satin Doll ode to Jazz

Satin Doll

She shimmy as she graces the stage to sing. A sly look to her left at a cat calling dream. Cat daddy scattin to Satin Doll

She sings a moment only to him;
IT DON'T MEAN A THING IF YOU AIN'T GOT THAT SWING Do wop, do wop, do wop, do wop, do wop, do waaa ...
Now, she's flattered her eyes are hazed and her cheeks turned rose blush.

Cat man please just let her get through this set. Settle down now don't be a lush!

Satin Doll is captivating even mesmerizing.
She's a sophisticated lady with a band ensemble, who nobody can fool.
Mind, Body, & Soul she brings it on
ever so cool.
He could be a handsome dark latin
catchin' to his Satin Doll.

Cat man just let her get through her set.
Maybe just maybe... a sweet smile or some other nice gesture you will eventually get!

Satin Doll sings octaves so high soaring straight in a midsummer night sky.
A mind blowing dream listening to classic songs, Lester Young's " Almost Like Being In Love",  "Fools Gold" to "Body & Soul" .
So magical is Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington's duo magnifique music
A swell collaboration jazz blend of flawless precision.

Well in his mind she's his muse.
Satin Doll's so sharp man' she is one step ahead and already know to choose.

Pardon me Miss uh` ?
Did I see your lovely face in a flower?
A wink of the eye, oh yeah that Satin Doll sees you.
A love affair started so hot and barely
 ever cooled off.

Oooh that Cat man (manager) that is...
He is an entrepreneur so her singing is what he's really after. Cat man got a band too. Off of Lennox just around the way.

Satin Doll is his muse day by day.
Oh how sweet it is to embrace love.
But does she really care to let love linger?

In this life many seem to have an angle.
I Am Satin Doll and my music is my one and only love.
