Encouraging To Nourish
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Conversations to overhear,
Between two or more people listening...
As to who can better tell,
The most outrageous thing to have done.
This to also hear are probably,
Their children as well.
Left encouraging to nourish on,
Fiction to flourish throughout their lives.
Not to realize the living to delude,
Is not truth to defend.
Or believe if done to do,
That apologies expressed...
After ignorance has been performed.
That an awaiting for applause, cheers...
With a standing ovation,
Should not be premeditated to anticipate...
With a bow done to do,
Before that happens.
'I...
Accept.'
'You...
Accept what?'
'Your forgiveness, of course!'
'The only thing,
We have agreed to give to you...
Is an overdue lesson to teach it!
With a taste of discipline and tough love.'
'What are you talking about?
I'm not a kid.'
'Isn't that ironic.
Not one of us jokes.
Nor will we kid around with you.
What a coincidence.
You have asked,
For what we've come give.
And so right you are too!
Kids don't ask for what we offer.
Volunteered to give and supply applied!'
'You don't scare me!'
'Truth,
For whatever the reason...
Shouldn't scare anyone.
Yet when it appears,
People seem as if they can run from it.
Screaming for God.
Isn't that odd?
And...
This is the same God,
Folks like you say ain't real.
And you know what's real crazy?'
'I...I...don't know that yet!'
'No one ever calls for SPIDERMAN.
SUPERMAN.
WONDER WOMAN.
Or CAPTAIN AMERICA!
