what a shame

What a shame
By: Luke Breen
Take the pain
And let me forget the shame
Tis but a stain
Of a forgotten fame
A feeling you thought you could tame
As the door rang
You feel the flash of a bang
Across your head
Right before bed
Flash of memories rush through your head
Leaving you feeling with such dread
Because you were the one who fled
And the other’s you left ended up dead
You can run, you can hide
But never forget you lied
And never tried
To save the ones you left
As you wander the streets getting busted for theft
I wonder what you have left
I hope you die in jail
I don’t care if you have a bail
I will no longer walk down your trail
And I will not fail

About this poem

It's about someone trying to steer from a path that has previously left and seen as they bailed
