We must stop, dear child.

We must stop, dear child.
It isn’t safe for us here.
We mustn't get too close,
For it's the virus that we fear.

But mother, my friends, how I miss them so dear.
I know about the conditions, I know they are severe.
But if I only get to say a “hello”, one that’s sincere,
I promise I will hold your hand, I promise I will not go near.

I suppose, dear child, but only a “hello”.
Close to others, we shall not go.
I know this is hard, but be the good girl I know.
The virus is spreading, and so we mustn't let it grow.

Hello Sarah, and Dana, and Liz, and John!
Hello Oliva, and Charlotte, and David, and Ron!
I know, that we may be apart,
But we all share places in each other’s hearts.
And while close to you, I cannot go,
This is not goodbye, more so a hello.
And so, hello!

That was really nice, dear child.
Just know, someday the clouds will clear,
And soon the storm will end.
Know that the someday the schools will reopen,
And someday, you will be able to see your friends.
By then, life will be back to normal, and the virus will finally be over with.
Until then, continue to say hello.
Make the time pass by not as slow.
If only everyone could see the world, as you do.
Perhaps we could ALL see the rainbow that lies at the end of the storm.
And while this storm, is one that is taking a huge toll on our community,
Things are getting better.
And we can rest assured that the rainbow will show itself soon.
