Invested Stress

We do not have to agree,
That a society driven by capitalism...
Needs competitors to compete,
In an assortment of competitions.
Endorsed to support the economy.

And as a way of life,
To accept and believe.
We consciously invest in this hustle,
Left to struggle.
With it to hope to receive and get,
Something in return to identify...
Being worthy and beneficial.
Recognized applied,
To our daily lives to live.

We lay up groaning.
Day and night to moan.
To have our efforts to endeavor,
Acknowledged.
For those pains and headaches.
We allow to condone.
Believing to perceive our invested stress,
Should at least reward us with less B.S.
Instead of more regrets.

But yet...
We become addicted to pretensions kept.
Created and made,
To keep us 'Stressed Out.
Although this to complain about,
Is more addicting to do.
Than a leaving behind this habit.
With it to stop and drop to mean it!

'What's the matter?
You look as if,
You have been orphaned and abandoned.
By relatives and your closest friends.
What's the matter? What's going on?'

'I was on my way,
To get my prescriptions refilled.
And I lost the prescription.
I can't find it anywhere.'

'Just call your primary doctor!'

'I did.'

'So what's the problem?'

'His voice mail announced,
He will not be available for 3 weeks.
He decided he and his family,
Needed a vacation.
To get away from all the stress!'

'Interesting.
And...
This is the stress you invested in!'

'What do you mean by that?'

'Well...
It is obvious and clear to me,
Who is the benefactor of it!'

'You are no help to me at all.
What a cynical and sarcastic thing to say!'

'Have it your way but I will say this,
I'm willing to bet...
Your doctor and his family,
Are miles away not to think about stress.
Or who may be stressed out.
While they are on a 3 week vacation.
Being medicated,
By the beach, sand...
And having fun somewhere,
Laying up under the Sun.
Enjoying your investment!
