Sun-lit Heart
Painting out the darkness, there is something akin to light in a
Sea of blackness.
To cradle sunshine between these calloused hands…
To be _____. (wanted)
Plucking the stars from the sky,
Allowance to fall against collarbones -- they must be (alive)
Crushed and smashed and ground down
____ _ ____ ___ _.
Down
To dust, to fall against sternum and flesh-covered bone
To light the space above an aching heart (to fill in) the
gaps.
Paintbrush to canvas, gathering the ocean in an hourglass
(light sound time sand; one in the same)
Between parched lips (this heart, your hands. That sunlight)
A prayer, beads on a rosary, routine over and over and-
Like the half-light of dawn, like that blossoming love.
begging (livelivelivelivelivelive)
A beating heart crafting a soundtrack to monet
A seascape, a moonlit street -- glorious sights of thorns,
Sunlight seeps into the seams voided of sound
Painting in the darkness, there is a flickering light
Of your sun-lit heart (beating, beating, beating)
