The Dead Flower

Brittle and dry

Dusted and Decayed

Shriveled and dull

Crushed and withered

Once was alive and beautiful

Vibrant and silky

Open and free

Enjoyed and loved

But you stopped replenishing its essentials

You let it get dark

You let it dry up

You didn't notice when it sagged over in desperation

One by one the petals fell

And now it's too late

You let it die
